The One With Them All!

Alice - I adore this scent! It's fizzy and citrus-y and all around cheerful!

Bella - This is the perfect floral in my opinion! I won't need to soap a lilac after this one. Even though it doesn't have lilac in it, I still get the idea of lilac and it's much softer.

Green Clay Facial Soap - since this soap is made up of mostly olive oil, it is already incredibly hard. I can't wait to give this one a try. The green mellowed out to a nice pastel.

Princess Kisses - Mmmm...this scent is such a yummy tart fruity scent. I like my fruit scents to be more tart than sweet. This one is perfect. It discolored my batter a cream color but I'm ok with that!

Be Delicious - I'm not 'wowed' by this scent but it is pretty. A bit fruity and a bit floral. I am 'wowed' by the swirls however. They aren't special, I know, but it was my first real success at an ITP swirl!

Delicious & Princess Kisses Soaps

Yesterday when I went to cut my Alice and Bella soaps, they were much too soft. After reviewing my recipe, I realized I'd added too much liquid. So as such, I was eager to get back into the soap kitchen and make my revised recipe. When I went downstairs to make soap today, Bella was ready to cut but Alice was not so I decided to hold off until tomorrow.

Today I made two more girly soaps. One is yet another remake of Princess Kisses. I used a Herbal Essences dupe. I've soaped this scent several times but this one is from a different supplier and did not turn my soap batter yellow like the other always does. The top has soap chunks from other batches.

I also soaped a dupe of DKNY Be Delicious. The soap base is white with green and pink swirls and then the additional green and pink on top.

Tomorrow I hope to be able to cut all the soaps. Until then, here is a video to enjoy. :)

Alice, Bella, and a Face Soap

It's been a while again since I was in the soap kitchen. I pretty much only soap on the weekends and when we head out of town for one or two of them, the soaping becomes fewer and farther between. Today I made up for it all and made three different soaps.

The first I worked on was a facial soap just for myself. I have very oily skin and I'm always on a search for something that will work. I made a mostly castile batch (I know, probably should call it a bastile) and added french green clay along with tea tree and eucalyptus essential oils.

The other two soaps I made are 'Alice' and 'Bella' and I used the same named fragrances from Majestic Mountain Sage. I received the fragrances by way of my friend Athena that owns Simply Eden Bath and Body. I had emailed her to get her opinion on some of the Twilight fragrances and she generously offered to sell some to me from her stock. She gave me a great deal and I've been so excited to soap the fragrances. It was hard to go downstairs and see the bottles sitting on my clean table with clean equipment next to them. I'm eager to try the Jacob fragrance soon.

Alice is a blend of sparkling orange, lemon, and linen. It is an amazing scent! I colored the soap predominately pink with a little white on top to swirl.

Then I soaped the Bella fragrance which is a blend of lavender and freesia. It is a soft floral and I found it to be fresh and lovely. Florals often give me a headache but this one did not. Bella is predominately purple with white to swirl the top.

A Friendship Swap!

My friend Kimberly (from My Nature's Art) and I did a friendship soap swap! We made soaps for each other with favorite scents and colors. This is mine for Kimberly. It has a scent blend of berries, citrus, and melon. I melted my oils with a vanilla bean and then used the seeds in the white part. I have some air pockets (from dilly daddling) but it's all good!

Blue Tide Soap

I've decided to name this soap Blue Tide by suggestion of one of my YouTube viewers. Thank you traychelle! I do realize that this soap is now not so blue, but I do like the name and will probably remake this soap soon and will make sure it really is a nice blue. :)

The fragrance is trying to discolor the soap and the bar will most likely end up being the same color as the edges. No matter, it smells way too good!

Cantaloupe & Lily

I had so much fun cutting this soap. It was so smooth! Most of my soaps are pretty smooth but wow, this one just blew me away. I don't know if I just cut it in the perfect hour or what but other than the fragrance, everything was the same. The other soap was too soft to cut. Since it came from the same batch, I'd say it was the water in my colorant or the fragrance that contributed. I should be able to cut it tomorrow. Until then...enjoy Cantaloupe & Lily!

Happy New Year!

I woke up feeling so awesome and I knew that I wanted to get into the soap kitchen. I also know it was good thinking that I didn't soap yesterday as I wasn't feeling so great and I do believe that it comes through in the soap. Soaping always goes better when I'm feeling good.

So I kicked off the soaping new year by making Cantaloupe & Lily and a fresh and clean scented soap too. I haven't figured out a name for it yet. It's a blend I made and it is a clean laundry type. Very nice!

I wanted to go into a more natural direction but when my last several soaps turned out not so fabulous, I needed a fun and sweet smelling soap.
