I'm getting all wild and crazy with this candle making business. ;-) Today I made 2 mini loaf candles in the cutest ceramic containers and whipped wax for the first time as well. It was fun and I learned so much just by going for it and trying it.
This first one is scented in a birthday cake fragrance - mmmm, it's right on!
This second one is scented in a fruit loops fragrance, it's one of my favorite scents but it always turns my soap brown - I'm happy to have it in candle form!
This last regular candle is a mix of all my leftover wax from the last pink sugar extravaganza - I love how the pink and purple swirled inside - it's so pretty!
The finished candles are in my most favorite of colors. :-) I took these pictures on Friday and I burned Pink Sugar and Pink Sugared Berries on Saturday. They both burned very well and had great scent throw. I noticed that the Pink Sugar/Black Raspberry Vanilla combo candle (Pink Sugared Berries) smelled exactly like another candle I made a few weeks ago only it used two entirely different fragrances. How funny!
I'm thinking about using the extra wax I had and starting a leftover candle. Basically, a leftover candle is just a wicked jar that I keep around that I continue to fill with the extra wax.
Hubby woke up sick with a head cold yesterday so we spent the day lazing about but today I must create so I imagine another candle is in my future for the day...what to do...what to do... :-)
I was getting dangerously low on my pink sugar candles so I decided I had to make more!
I wanted to make a full size of straight pink sugar first, so that my house will forever be scented in pink sugar. :-) I had made two smaller containers of pink sugar a while ago but they are nearly burned out. I have also been burning the original pink sugar candle that my good friend Kyme sent to me and it is also nearly gone. We can't be in a pink sugar shortage!
While I was at it, I wanted to try out some blends. I mixed pink sugar/peppermint, pink sugar/black raspberry vanilla, and pink sugar/cinnamon in small jelly jars. The last candle I made was actually not pink sugar at all (what?!?!) but a mix of coffee and cinnamon roll. I've been so curious what that might smell like.
There's no rhyme nor reason to the order in the picture...from left to right we have the coffee/cinnamon roll candle (isn't that little espresso cup darling?!?!), the pink sugar/brv combo, the pink sugar/peppermint combo, straight pink sugar, and pink sugar/cinnamon combo.
I did a video of the making while I was at it, just a fun hang-out-with-me type video. Since I did this yesterday, today I'll go trim the wicks and see how they look and will be sure to video that as well.
These two soaps were just so fun to make and to cut. I enjoyed the entire process. These are my kind of soaps, so nice and colorful. Their scents are so cheery as well.

I don't know the next time I'll be making soap. I'm sure it will be sooner than later but I'm now out of shea butter and haven't ordered any yet. Ahh! ;-)
I am really behind on blogging! Yikes! I've made four batches of soap in the last four or five days. I'm thrilled with all of them!
On Sunday I made Pink Posy and Snow Soaps. I was wanting very light colored soaps after the Pink Sugar fiasco. Pink Posy is a beautiful soft floral blend of violets, gardenia, jasmine, and also a touch of grapefruit and vanilla. I enhanced the white and did an in-the-mold swirl in pale pink.
The other soap I made on Sunday is called Snow. It's been so hot that I really needed to focus on something cool. This soap is very winter-like in look and scent. It is scented with an essential oil blend of fir needle, eucalyptus, and peppermint. Not only does it have a 'cold' scent but it was also be cool and refreshing when we use it too.
This afternoon I made two more soaps and they are extremely colorful! The first I made is called Citrus Pop and it has a delightful scent blend of pink grapefruit and litsea essential oils. This blend is one of my favorites. This time I decided to play up the colors and colored it pink, yellow, orange, and green. It's very sherbet-y!
The second soap I made was a remake of Fruitylicious. The last time I made it, I used some yellow soap balls that promptly removed themselves from my soap upon cutting. Grr! I used six colors this time and it will be much more jazzy! This is a delicious fruity scent (thus Fruitlicious) and is a scent combo of leafy greens, pineapple, coconut, cherries, peaches, jasmine, violets, and a touch of vanilla.
