It's About Time

I finally cut my banana soap today! It turned out ok and the scent is awesome but it didn't get as yellow as I anticipated. I used up some olive oil that has a greenish tint to it and so that messed up the yellow a little bit. It's quite plain but it's a keeper!

Too Soft

Well, bummer. My banana soap is really soft 48 hours later. I was able to get one loaf out of the mold ok but the other got mangled pretty bad. I don't know why it is so soft but I'll have to give it some time. So unfortunately, probably no pictures for a few days at least.

Banana Soap

I did get the chance to make soap this morning. This is a banana soap. It does not contain real bananas although that is a fun idea for another time. I used a banana coconut fragrance oil and I can't decide if it smells like banana pudding or suntan lotion. I didn't think the glitter really went with it but I had to add just touch. I hadn't glittered anything in almost a month!

Packaging and Such

I've been working on packaging some of my soaps for a couple of weeks now. I keep working on them in baby steps. I thought I was finally ready to box them up and have them ready to ship when I discovered that the second round of boxes we'd picked up at the post office were too big. The first were too small of course. So now I will need to get to the store to just buy some small boxes.

My packaging and labels are very simple. I haven't researched the proper way to list my ingredients since I'm not selling but I do believe that will be next on my list.

These are my avocado oil soap samples that I am finally getting ready to send.

Looky here! My table is cleaned up and soaping is now possible once again. Maybe tomorrow?

Awesome New Video

I just love the videos from Brambleberry! I can't seem to conquer bath fizzies so this one was especially fun for me. I love the background colors.

Long Time...No Soap

It sure has been a good long while since I've made soap and I am beginning to get irritated by that fact. Summer is just a busy time. We've been out of town the last couple of weekends and my husband has been busy at work and has been traveling often as well. He had to work out of town the entire Memorial Day weekend even. I prefer to make soap when my husband is around to take care of the kids. I just know that if I try to make soap AND keep track of my three kids, that I will most likely have some dramatic event and will have to leave my soap just as it's coming to trace. Of course, by the time I get back to it, the soap will be at such a thick trace that I won't be able to do anything with it. So that's my reasoning anyway. ;) I am trying to clear out some of my stock as well as I totally ran out of room to store soap. I don't exactly want to take over the entire family room in the basement. :) Anyhoo... look for something from me soon. If not, you can probably find me at the lake.
