Sparkly Clean - CUT!

A Different Sparkle and Other Matters

The silver lining to freezing rain is the next morning when everything is nice and sparkly as the sun shines. It is a beautiful winter wonderland here this morning. The pictures don't show the sparkle but believe me, it's beautiful.




My husband had to make a trip to Wal-mart yesterday and I asked him to look for a small glass cup for measuring fragrance oils and such and he came home with two of these.



They are so cute. They are 5 oz so just over a half a cup. I have one of those shot glass measuring cups but I found I use more than an oz of most things. I was so excited about them that I was giddy. I was admiring them again this morning as I put them away in their new home with the rest of their new equipment family. They'll have a happy life here. :)

My Sparkly Clean soap is out of the freezer and I'm so happy with the color. It is the exact blue that I wanted! I thought it was going to lean towards a green tint but it doesn't look that way right now. I will cut it tomorrow afternoon.

Oh Bugger

Well, I can't just leave well enough alone! I think this new design is super awesome but I lost my blog list, etc., so I'm going to have to re-enter lots of info again! Fooey!

Sparkly Clean - In The Mold

We had another showing on our house today. As soon as we got home, I beat it downstairs to make soap before another chance was taken from me! Yesterday was a rollercoaster of showings scheduled, then cancelled, then another scheduled just as I headed to make soap. So I'm tickled that I actually was able to get this batch done! I wanted to go simple this batch, one color and no swirls! :) I colored it a light blue and it is scented in a clean, laundry, cotton scent. I know it is a popular scent and today I discovered why. It is just lovely! I had to add sparkles of course. How can I not? This batch is chillin' in the freezer and I will cut it in a couple of days.

Scratch the Pudding Part

My vanilla soap has been darkening a little bit everyday. I've seen it go from bright yellow to butterscotch and then to the caramel color it is now. I've never worked with vanilla before and it's quite interesting to watch it go through the stages.

I've had so much fun with this batch! I cut the second loaf this morning and it does have a different design.

Loopy Fruit - CUT!

I just cut my Loopy Fruit soap but I did rush it. I cut the smaller loaf, the one that didn't quite measure up. It was sticky and didn't want to release from the knife. I'll leave the other loaf to dry some more and I'll cut it up tomorrow sometime. I worked with it a little differently so I am eager to see the design that it has. It's a taller loaf too. I had eye-balled it, I guess I'm a little lop-sided. :)




Here is the vanilla too. We'll call it Vanilla Pudding for now but I'm sure I'll be dropping the pudding once it discolors.
